Your generosity and thoughtfulness have truly made a difference in my life, and I am deeply appreciated. As an immigrant from the Philippines, I am currently serving in the Air Force Reserve while balancing my internship and a research assistant position, this scholarship means more than words can fully convey. The past year has been particularly challenging due to some health problems I have faced. Balancing my various responsibilities with my health issues has been incredibly difficult. However, receiving this scholarship has provided me with a much-needed opportunity to step back and focus on my recovery efforts. The financial support has alleviated a significant burden, allowing me to prioritize my health without worrying about financial strain.Your generosity has lightened my financial load and inspired me to continue working hard toward my academic and career goals. I hope to give back to others, just as you have generously given to me.Thank you once again for your support and belief in my potential. Your kindness has made a profound impact on my life, and I am deeply grateful.Sincerely, Frances YuI am sincerely grateful for the scholarship awards I received this past March. As the fall semester rapidly approaches, knowing that I have some extra money to help pay for tuition and textbooks is a relief. After seeing the Western Regional Survey Conference auction earlier this year, I have a newfound appreciation for the donors and individuals who organize the fundraising and events. I realize now that it takes both generosity on the part of the donors and a great deal of hard work from the NALS personnel and event organizers to make the scholarships feasible. I am a survey technician for the Nevada BLM in Reno. I started in this position in August of 2023. I have been taking online surveying classes through GBC, off-and-on, since 2018, when I started my first land surveying job with Wood Rodgers in Reno. I really enjoy the outdoors, and working in the cadastral surveying group with the BLM has given me ample opportunities to travel and see parts of Nevada I never would have gotten to see on my own. Moreover, I find cadastral work exciting and challenging, which is what I was looking for in a career.Sincerely, Robert HollisAbout the Cover...Do you have a cover shot you would like to submit?
